House Productions is an independent production company run by Tessa Ross. The company, and its subsidiary House Pictures, is based in London and launched in 2016.
House is where the flow of ideas and creative talent between film and television can achieve the best and most ambitious work. We are a home for original, exciting stories, a place where ideas can be nurtured and produced in a supportive environment with both new and established collaborators.
House’s films include the BAFTA and Academy Award-winning CONCLAVE (FilmNation), surpassing $110m at the global box office; Jonathan Glazer’s Academy Award-winning THE ZONE OF INTEREST (Film4 / A24); Sean Durkin’s wrestling drama, THE IRON CLAW (A24) starring Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen-White; Sebastian Lelio’s psychological thriller, THE WONDER (Netflix), starring Florence Pugh; and Andrea Arnold’s magical realist coming-of-age drama, BIRD (BBC / BFI).
Upcoming releases on the film side include Alice Birch’s directorial debut starring Cate Blanchett, SWEETSICK (Searchlight Pictures / Film4), Bijan Sheibani’s feature directorial debut THE ARRIVAL (Film 4 / BFI), based on Sheibani’s acclaimed play of the same name and starring Kingsley Ben-Adir and Archie Madekwe; and Danny Boyle’s feature adaptation of James Graham’s play INK (StudioCanal), starring Jack O’Connell and Guy Pearce as a young Rupert Murdoch. Development is meanwhile underway on Ilker Çatak’s adaptation of David Szalay’s Booker Prize-winning novel, FLESH.
House’s TV productions include Emmy Award-winning BREXIT: THE UNCIVIL WAR (C4 / HBO), written by James Graham and starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Rory Kinnear; MINT, Charlotte Regan’s first authored television series as a writer-director; LIFE AFTER LIFE, an adaptation of the Kate Atkinson bestseller written by Bash Doran (BBC); and three seasons of SHERWOOD (BBC), James Graham’s BAFTA-winning original series, which will return for a third season in 2027.
House also produced Stephen Butchard’s THE GOOD MOTHERS, the story of the women who dared to escape the ‘Ndrangheta mafia, for Disney+ in 2023 to wide acclaim, winning best original series at Berlinale, as well as SIX FOUR (ITV) and TRIGONOMETRY (BBC).
